The World's End

This summer, we endured a seemingly endless barrage of mediocrity, disappointments, and worse at the movies, including but certainly not limited to...

However, little did we know that there was light at the end of the tunnel, just waiting for us at the end of our cinematic barhop:

And after finally sitting through something that was more than merely "okay", something truly worthwhile to close out the summer on a high note, well, afterwards, words such as "mediocre" or "disappointing" had long been left behind. No, in the end, there was only one word that came to mind, which our theater came together to raise our glasses and proudly chant in unison:

Oh yes! Drink up, guys, this one's on me.

  1. This gives me hope. After just watching Kick-Ass 2, this sure is a very underwhelming summer of movies.

    1. Oh yeah, without a doubt, this summer has disappointed left and right, so really, this movie was just a breath of fresh air. Really great stuff, especially if you've enjoyed any of Edgar Wright's previous work.

    1. I'll tell you what, when the day comes that those bad boys are released to the public, I'll send one over your way free of charge. After all, this one's on me. ;)

    ..so I won't :D

You already know what I thought about it..I am just so glad Edgar Wright didn't let us down. If he had, I might have bought a drink JUST to cry into it.

    1. I actually didn't completely dislike all the movies listed above, Gatsby and Red 2 included. Still, doesn't mean they weren't still letdowns, though. ;)

  5. Chris I would agree, so many films were either completely average or huge let downs this year. Nice to hear that a film rises above the pedestrian nature of film this year. Still have not had a chance to view it yet but maybe this weekend.

    1. Oh yeah, this one definitely doesn't disappoint like so many others have this year. It's certainly worth going out of your way to see. In fact, I'd insist that you do. Prioritize that shit, lol. ;)

  6. I may be the only fan of The Hangover III. I may be the only one who felt it was the best in the trilogy. I'll get my coat :)

    1. Well you're certainly the first I've come across at least, lol. But hey, while I can't say that like it, I can't say that I hated it like the second one, either. :P
